Its shocking receiving the breaking news this morning over the demise of former Enyimba Captain, Kano pillar centre-back after an auto crash.


He was on parade as Sai Masu Gida played out a 1-1 draw with the People’s Elephant at the Sani Abacha Stadium, and on his return to club after visiting his former teammates at Enyimba suffered the tragic fate.


His Current club before his demise, Kano Pillars, expressed their condolences with Udoji’s family after hearing the news of his passing.


“Chinedu Udoji was involved in a car accident yesterday after visiting his former teammates at Enyimba,” the club tweeted.


“This tragic accident happened along Club Road in Kano. Our deepest condolences to his family, friends, fans, and football lovers all across the country.”

The club’s Technical Committee chairman, Alhaji Faruk Haladu in a statement signed by its Media Officer, Idris Rilwanu Malikawa, described the late player as an asset and a dedicated player.

The club said the player was heading to his residence in Badawa quaters after he visited his former club, Enyimba FC after the Week 9 encounter which ended 1-1 on Sunday.


The club said Udoji was alone in his car with registration number KSF 499 BF when the accident happened.


The corpse of late Udoji has been deposited at the Murtala Muhammad Specialists Hospital kano and the incident reported to the Bompai Police Division in Kano


He said the club officials are processing all necessary documentation before taking his corpse to his family for burial rites.

28 years old Chinedu Udoji has won the 2014 Federation Cup and 2015 Nigeria Professional Football League titles before he passed on.
