The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Charles Udo, yesterday flagged – off a state-wide sensitisation program in Uyo tagged “UDOMCARES”

The Campaign flag – off which is part of the state government’s quest to engage its citizens in government programmes and activities in the state witnessed a turn out of crowd which witnessed the event.

The Information Boss in His speech described Governor Udom Emmanuel as a caring and people-oriented leader, who does not segregate any level or class of people in the society.

Mr. Charles Udoh also noted that the Udom-led government is the first to bring its activities closer to the people, advised the people of Ibom Plaza community to arise and work hard in order to sustain meaningful livelihood.

The Information Boss disclosed that, the government re-opened the Ibom plaza to ensure sustainability of the means of livelihoods of the traders who utilise the facility and charged the youths to take advantage of the various capacity building programmes so far put in place by the Governor Udom Emmanuel-led administration.


The awareness campaign which started at about 4pm at Ibom Plaza, Uyo, attracted Uyo sons and daughters as well as non-indigenes resident in the state.

The Chairman of the Ibom plaza community and PDP Vice Chairmanship candidate for Uyo, Emmanuel Ukai in his remarks expressed appreciation to Governor Udom Emmanuel for giving members of the community a sense of belonging with the packages doled out to them through the #Udomcares campaign, stressing that the gesture will be reciprocated.

Some Community members who were given opportunity to speak during an interactive session anchored by a Media Aide to the Governor, Mr. Essien Ndueso, mentioned that the Udom-led administration has achieved the provision of sufficient food, established Pencil factory, Syringe Factory, Metering Factory, Toothpick Factory as well as developed sustainable roads in local government areas of the state.

The people of Ibom Plaza community thanked the Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel for his outstanding service delivery and pledged their undaunted support to the Governor in 2019.

To round it up, Cash prizes were presented to winners by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Strategy, Pastor Praise Okon and the Director of Administration in the Ministry, Mrs. Tiuba Nduonofit.
